Current Position Openings at MTU Onsite Energy:


Position: Software Programmer
Department: IT
Location: Power Drive
Status: Full Time
Pay: Salaried, Exempt
Travel: minimal

Job Summary:

  • Software Developer to work with our dynamic development team. Projects will cover the complete software life cycle for internal programs, as well as back-end support systems to produce robust bug free software. Primary projects may include programming of our software applications, including prototyping, building and testing scripts on new projects, as well as defect repair on currently deployed systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, Develop and maintain C# software according to the company's specifications and quality standards. Customize software specific to business needs.
  • Responsibilities will include developing program specifications/detail design documents, codes, tests, implements and debugs applications programs.
  • Analyze code and correct issues.
  • Database programming, including SQL queries, schema, table and view creation, test data model and confirm viability.
  • Employ knowledge and understanding of our application's data and processes to diagnose and correct problems that are reported by our personnel or our customers.
  • Take or coordinate, as appropriate, corrective action to problems in order to meet required levels of service.
  • Work with software analysts and software architects to develop specifications for changes to the system that address defects, enhance functionality and improve levels of service.
  • Overtime and travel may be required.
  • Strong analytical skills, a sense of urgency, and ability to take ownership and figure things out when not all of the information is readily available.
  • Work with direct supervisor to develop and improve existing area through planning and implementation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification/Education and/or Experience:

  • Education: Required: BA or BS degree in an Information Technology Field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years experience in Visual Basic .Net or C#, MS .Net development, ASP.Net, Windows Forms applications, and MS SQL Server (T-SQL, DTS, triggers, stored procedures), XML, and XSL. Experience with the following programming languages: C, C++, C#, Visual Studio.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of software applications, software development life cycle, programming languages and database development practices.
  • Proven strong understanding of relational database concepts as well as database and index tuning concepts
  • Works on problems of diverse scope and high complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignment simultaneously.
  • Flexibility – ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to handle multiple tasks through prioritization and time management skills

Position: Industrial Sales Manager
Department: Sales

Job Summary:

  • Sell MTU Onsite Energy equipment at or above expected sales levels and at profit margins within the guidelines set forth by the company budgets, position objectives and the President. Coordinates sales distribution sales territories, quotas and goals and advises distributors, OEM's and house account clients concerning sales and advertising techniques. Analyzes sales to formulate policy and to help field sales in promoting MTU Onsite Energy product sales. Review market analyses to learn customer needs, volume potential, and price schedules and discount structures and develop programs to reach company goals. Provide sales information and data showing sales volume and anticipated future sales levels for budgeting purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs staffing, interviewing, hiring, training and performance evaluations to develop and control market sales activities. Assign sales territories to sales personnel and supervise employees in the market sales division by directing work and travel, prioritizing customer contacts, appraising rewarding, disciplining and addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Hold weekly staff meetings to communicate and exchange information on market issues
  • Reviews product offerings to eliminate unprofitable items from product offering and add or make changes or improvements to our product or accessory offering.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings, conventions, market segment events to promote MTU Onsite Energy products and services and promote networking with specific vendors and contractors
  • Call on MTU Onsite Energy market customers and field sales accounts and maintain communication with same to promote information exchange to allow positive growth potential and attainment of sales goals
  • Analyze and control expenditures of sales to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Coordinates liaison between sales and other company related units such as engineering\order entry, quality control, accounting (accounts receivable) production scheduling and Service and training to facilitate complete and accurate communication and to foster a team approach
  • Participate as a member of the MTU Onsite Energy Senior Management Group in helping to make corporate decisions on issues both inside and outside of the direct area of responsibility as the Director of Industrial Sales
  • Foster and promote MTU Onsite Energy's Core Beliefs as the basis for our interaction with our customers and our coworkers in conducting day to day business and promote and project a positive team approach to dealing with all issues
  • Keep the senior management group informed of any market related or internal issues that could impact our ability to be successful in our goals to market and promote or service and support MTU Onsite Energy products
  • Make market sales decisions within the guidelines as specified by the position objectives or by the president. Approve sales of customers pending credit approval before order acceptance
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Qualification/Education and/or Experience:

  • Education: Required B.A. degree from a 4 year college or university or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 5-7 years of managerial and sales experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to present information in written and/or oral form to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • When appropriate, fluency in Spanish and/or other languages as needed.
